Finally, I think everything is pretty much up-to-date. If you find a problem, don’t hesitate to tell. Thanks…

By the way, the big Self-Confrontation Resources button is about to go bye bye. You’ll still be able to access this page through the navigation bar, though.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions
Q.What is this, anyway?
A. Self-Confrontation is an in-depth discipleship class. The study is designed with two purposes in mind: To help you experience victory and contentment in all of life’s trials and problems by approaching relationships and circumstances from a biblical perspective, and To prepare you to help others face, deal with, and endure their problems biblically. The 105 biblical principles contained in the Self-Confrontation study, based solely on the promises and authority of God in the Old and New Testaments, provide guidance for living a victorious life. Each lesson is designed, first, to explain the meaning of specific biblical principles, and then to incorporate them into your life through practical homework assignments. The Self-Confrontation study includes biblical teaching on areas such as preoccupation with self, anger, bitterness, relationships, depression, fear, worry, and more. It is designed to be a continuing reference for facing, dealing with, and enduring all problems of life.

Q.When is the class?
A. Part 1 of the class is every Wednesday, January 6th through March 31. Part 2 of the class is from April 21 through July 7. The class will meet from 6:30 pm – 7:45 pm in L-401.

Q.Where do I get the books?
A.The Self-Confrontation Manual and the Self-Confrontation Student Workbook can be purchased at www.bcfministries.org or the Lighthouse Bookstore.

Q.What if I miss a week?
A. If you miss a class, we kick you out. I kid! Throughout the class, we will make sure everything is clear so that you can keep up in the event that you have to miss a class session. If you keep up with your workbook, you’ll be just fine.

Q.Two books? This is confusing.
A. It may seem confusing at first, but after you get going it will make nearly perfect sense. Here’s the key: Let the workbook guide you. It will tell you when and what to look at in the manual. I know what you’re talking about and this is one of those rare occasions when I can honestly say, “It’ll be okay.” Keep at it.

Q.Is this stuff you’re teaching supposed to be in my book?
A. Yes and No. Here’s the deal. Each week you complete the lesson assigned in your workbook. Then, each Wednesday I will take based upon the lesson, but will add other stuff in to expand and highlight what you’re working through in the workbook. Trust me. It’s better this way.

I am so excited about this study. Finally, something deeper, something more personally applicable, something practical, and most importantly, something directly from the word. Many bible studies are just that, “studies.” They leave you with more questions than before you started. Somehow a disconnect between the words on the page to the real daily life struggles. Discouragement and Disillusionment would be some of the emotions I have experienced. So far, thought provoking would be a fair assessment. Now, to apply as many of these truths as possible. It is interactive and validating. Motivating and Inspiring. I can’t thank you enough.
